Niloofar Amini is a trained architect, urban planner, and researcher specializing in the interplay between architecture and urban culture, with a particular emphasis on the socio-spatial dynamics of urban settlements. Her work seeks to challenge the rigidity of her discipline by exploring its performative dimensions. Drawing inspiration from Grotowski’s physical theatre, she directed and choreographed several theatrical pieces, including LotVitALLWE (2014) and Reading (2013), the latter based on Fernando Pessoa’s The Book of Disquiet. Amini’s work consistently explores the introspective journeys of individuals, examining how they are both shaped by and actively shape their spatial environments.
