This exhibition is the fifth major presentation of an European artist that the Chinese European Art Center presents within a year. Bard Breivik，the Norwegian artist who is exhibiting here is well known to the art public in Northen Europe and has been for a long time one of the leading scandinavian artists. His works has been exhibited worldwide and is presented in some of the most prominent collections in Europe and America.

Bard Breivik is working with all kinds of traditional materials， which has led to his interest in a variation of handicraft traditions. He has often been interested informs that exist in the transitional stage between hand workmanship and industrial production. Breivik’s art tracks a course where granite and contemporary sculpture meet on the cutting.

Usualy Bard Breivik makes granite artworks but here he is showing bronze pieces， drawings and lacquer works. Bard Breivik is a China-lover. He comes regularly to this country to work on his art and meet with his Chinese colleagues， having dialogues about Chinese and European art. These works that you see here on this exhibition were almost all made by the artist here in China.
